Hi all,

I wanted ton find out from those who have tampered in the Travel industry to see whether the Hurricane Season we are currently in enormously affects travel industry sales and if they a common pattern YOY (year over year)?

Depends where it hits. When Katrina hit, it severely affected New Orleans' tourism. But then again, travel to that area may have picked up as far as construction crews go. Surviving hotel chains, bed & breakfasts, and other similar accommodations may have done well with crews needing a place to stay. Inbound tourism flights probably were down while construction crews flying in went up. Perhaps the overall travel industry did not suffer much.

People who suffered the most were the land/business owners and renters living there for the long term.

Natural disasters (and human induced disasters) have an enormous effect on tourism flow and public perception.

It takes time to recover and regain public confidence.
