Background of “SecurAble”:
Hardens your computer against buffer over-run hacking attempts from hackers. With that said, I'm sure everyone here is interested in securing their computers.

Questions:

  • Has anyone here had experience with “SecurAble” software from GRC?
  • What are your thoughts about it?
  • Has it interfered with any of your software programs (Adobe, CuteFTP, OpenOffice, Mozilla, etc.)

If you have NOT seen this software, please read that page and share your thoughts.

You can find it at the following address: [Link to SecurAble]

I read over that page and while it seems like a desirable piece of software to use, I'm a bit concerned how it might affect other 3rd party software installed especially often used software. If it makes my often used software hard to use or useless, it becomes prohibitive to use.

Did some research and found out that it's not necessary to use that little utility to get DEP (Data Execution Prevention) working. And the built-in Windows function can make exceptions for misbehaving software so that it doesn't get affected by fully activating DEP—that's cool.
