Just as adobe needs to be installed on your browser to render flash on websites, silverlight must be installed on your brower, um, er, o yeah, this is a MS product, I correct myself, silverlight must take over your browser so that websites that use it will render. so, guess how those sites using silverlight will work in browsers other than IE (Copy Shortcut)

Isn't there another flash program out there that creates flash program GUI and animations too? I remember it being mentioned a few years ago, but forgot what it was called. (Copy Shortcut)

That's still way cheaper than Adobe's Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) at $700 a pop. (Copy Shortcut)
