ever considered where it ends up and whats done with it, i watched this news report about a place in some poor province in China that has a high toxic atmosphere because thats where the hi tech junk ends up where people including children get sick and die from working there. sad

Think I saw the same report a while back too. Many of the locals try to salvage anything they can to sell as spare parts. The toxic fumes produced by the burning of old batteries/plastics begins to affect their respiratory channels hence the unnecessary deaths.

The e-waste contains gold, but yet much/most of it gets dumped into landfills. We still have far too much waste not being recycled. Waste management is still lagging far behind technology. The company that perfects waste management is gonna be wealthy.
