Is this just a generic name the mods use, or is there a real person behind it?I always figured it was a generic name, But I will soon find out either way.

Just did a quick search for Mother and found this 1000 year-old thread which would seems to imply that a real person does indeed exist...

is Mother a Mr. Brown of sorts (no offense intended to any real Mr. Brown, alive or deceased). i ask because jkcity mentioned that his only recollection of Mother is was to "tell some one off for doing somthing.". Maybe Mother was/is just a concoction of the Mods to do dirty work? In our business we have a ficticious Mr. Brown who takes the tough angles and handles the really irate situations (Mr. Brown doesn't exist... does Mother?)

It's a special account reserve for the mothers of all the members here - if a member misbehaves, we contact his or her mother, who then logs on to this site using the special "Mother" account, and then reprimands her wayward child.A "Father" account was trialed but did not work. We are working on "Auntie" and "Baby Brother" accounts.

Now I am confused too - It was my understanding that mother was actually a particular moderator who is no longer a moderator (I think), whose name I will not mention (D).Janet Jim's wife...lol! I don't mean any disrespect with my finding that humorous, it is just that they get along too well to be married
