Ah! Proof!

Just heard it on the news, must be true!

The chemical reaction from giving birth (well, carrying) a boy literally takes years off the mom's life. Whereas Girls can actually extend the mom's life!

See, girls are better

It is noted that the average woman's brain is larger than the average man's. Does this infer that women are more intelligent or, in the way that todays' cpus become increasingly compact yet more powerful, women now evolve at a lesser rate?

Ahh ahh! That explains the grey hairs that are quickly emerging from my head! I have a one year old little boy and I think he is the only child I am going to have (think Dennis the Menace!) My sister's little girls are so much easier. You got to admit though the ONE big plus to having a boy is that they have the BEST TOYS! If I had a girl I would buy her boy toys.

yes they do have the better toys! but then, that's what being a 'Tom Boy' is all about.. my daughter has the requisite Barbies (ok, an insane amount of Barbies..) but the Lego's and HotWheels are what I play with Have you seen the new Star Wars legos!!! Many I can't wait! But.. geez charge a little more for them

Legos are one of the best toys ever. My brother and I had bins and bins of them...all the neighbor boys would come over in the summer and we'd spend like 8 hours a day building... Mom made us tear everything apart at the end of every week sad so we could start fresh. Ohh...and Transformers and Matchbox cars...boys definately had the best toys...thankfully, those were the ones my parent's bought for me!

So much more fun than dolls...I mean really...you can only play SO much with a doll...they don't really *do* anything. The only time I ever played with my Barbie's was to redecorate their little apartment over and over...the Barbie's themselves were kind of lame.

Is anyone here old enough to know "build a bricks"? They were the BEST toy ever.

Were those the red, cardboard "bricks" that you had to put together yourself?

If so, they RULE! We had tons of them...you could make a life-size fort out of those things!

Oh...yes...

and did you ever notice, that today's toys are really more about "collecting" than "playing."

In other words...whine and cry until your parents buy your 1500th beanie baby, pokemon, American Girl doll, etc...

thejen, I agree with you -- Legos rule! My brother and I had two huge picnic baskets full of them, and we would build things for weeks. We had a big basement and didn't have to take them down until we were "done" with our creations, to our satisfaction, which meant, it was definately an ongoing process.

I think constructive toys are the best things for kids -- gets the creativity and imagination flowing...

I have a hankering to make me a lego castle now...

I've gotta say, I AM a little envious that they didn't make Star Wars legos when I was a kid. In fact, it was almost nothing but space-themes when we played with them.

I've noticed that not only have Legos gotten WAY more expensive, but there are also less pieces. Some of the larger sets these days seem to come with a couple of really HUGE pieces, which in my mind takes away from a lot of the fun.

By the way, we had to tear our creations apart because it would get to the point that we didn't have any legos left...we all just sat around admiring our work...mom figured we'd learn more if we tore it apart and started from scratch...in retrospect, she was right! It's amazing how many different ways you can put the same exact pieces together.

Ohh...the other thing that I LOVED was Playmobile. Anyone remember those? We had a giant set of cowboys, indians and settlers...covered wagons, teepeas, canoes, horses, a million little tiny pieces and details. The canoes even floated without tipping over! Yet another toy that is now not only hard to find, but is incredibly expensive!

I liked 'meccano'. I was able to build bombers and fighter planes and things that were really good and other really good things as well as really good bits and I was able to make babies out of bits and I could make bits out of babies and I learned all about making things and it was really good and I liked them ever so much and my mummy used to put my toys away and hid them and I helped my mummy get rid of 15 pounds of ugly fat so I cut her head off and I shortened my mummy's life expectancy. I am a boy.

It's simple, if we take the example given by crash at the beginning and what thejenn adds at the end. Boys are definately double dipping on their mums.

Almost sound like a waste of time to me, chopping all those years off their mums.

Though I guess they might be good for somethings, sometimes in some situations.

Women have a longer life expectancy overall so it doubly goes to show how girls are superior.
