Just like the subject says I have a content page that does really well in the other search engines but MSN chooses to show my index page insted of it - it ranks well but there is only the link to the content page thats making the index page rank so well.

Just strange I think - anyone else in the same boat @ MSN?

I'm really doing well in MSN, it reminds me of Google pre-Florida. The spidering is constant. I put up 5 new pages a few days ago and they were in faster than Google could adjust the adsense ads. wink

I am doing just a tad better in Yahoo! (when Yahoo! works right) I'm trying some pre Florida type tweeks - I agree the algo seems much the same.

OAC,

Yea - it's a new condition (BETA). Pre BETA showed the content page not index.

Beta is not offitial! Go to www.msn.com and you get the beta results now! It just happened this morning!

[Actually, it happened nearly a week ago. It just hasn't been propagated to all servers yet, but is expected to do so, before February 1. OAC]

Pongo, it is difficult to know without examining the page in question but the new MSN engine does not appear to place much store in inbound links. Sooo, does that page obtain it's high ranking in the other engine(s) substantially due to inbound links?

Yea OAC - inbound links make it rank, the on page seo is light to moderate.

mocgiit,

Florida was a (Google update) that changed the SEO landscape forever,... Pages that google rewarded in the serps were all of a suden not ranking well mostly due to high keyword density.
