I might add that the site had the MSN Robot only a couple
of times in the last two months. almost didnt visit.

And the website has Enough Inbound Links, and nice traffic
in general...

the log shows it went through alot of the pages. alot of page views, but not alot of visits.

Anyone knows whats up?
and not to mention.. again... it doesnt list my mainpage.

Hi

I hope someone answers you too because my URL is showing up in MSN but there is no description with it. Plus it's not even my actual home page. I have no idea how to rectify this.

I am not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that all your pages except your home page are indexed? Or, all your pages except your home page appear in search results? Or what?

"main domain, the main index.html"

Is this your home page or not?

If so, approximately how many words of written content does that page contain?

What happens when you use Search Builder and use "Site/DomainFind only web pages from this site or domain"

Does this page appear in the results, searching for a common word eg "the"?

Yes, I mean the homepage.

That page has approximatly 1000 words of written content.

Using Site Builder I get 16 results. none of them are the
homepage.

Have an idea on whats going on?

I took a look - the problem may be due to the unusual way your are linking to your home page viz: <a href="/"

Try linking to your "home" page using the absolute URL i.e. <a href="http://yourdomainnamehere.com"

There are benefits with other engines by doing this, too.

Alternatively, link to index.html or whatever is the name of your home page.

Time has passed and that site is still not listed on MSNsearch.

More to that,
I got another site which I can see that MSN crawls to,
but it is currently not listed in MSN search.

This is weird since it is a website that has alot of links to it, it also contains fresh contents which is being updated
and added.

Im really clueless why would MSN wont show that site in their database.

Are you still linking to:

/

instead of your domain?

Nope,
linking to the full domainname.

And it also happens on some other site I have!
That one, MSNSearch doesnt even recognize. its not listed.
I would like to know what is causing this.

I will add that both of the site has traffic, alot of links pointing at them, fresh contents..

I would like to hear some ideas of whats causing my
sites not to be listed on msn.

You didn't do what I suggested. I suugested your link to be:
<a href="http://yourdomainnamehere.com"

But you have linked as:
<a href="http://yourdomainnamehere.com/"

Furthermore, you have used that same format for a number of your most important internal links . eg:
<a href="http://yourdomainnamehere.com/Quotes/"

As I previously suggested, you should try dropping the "/". So the above link would be:
<a href="http://yourdomainnamehere.com/Quotes"

You are doing something unusual with your internal links and I suggest this would be a good area for you to investigate more thoroughly.

I checked it out now,
It cant be the problem, since the link is like you said.
the main one atleast.

<a href="http://www.domain.com" ><img src="/images/logo.jpg" title="title here" alt="alt tag here" /></a>

and also the second one:
<a href="http://www.domain.com" class='menu-lnk'>text<br />link</a>

yesturday for instance,
MSN came 4 times, with 20 page views,
unlike yahoo for instance, which had 53 visits and 82 page views.

Alot of time has passed,
since I posted this thread, MSN only listed two more html pages. without the main url!

And it crawls the site everyday.

More information regarding my problem.

Another article was indexed.
The title is for some reason the url! example.com/article.html
and no description!

I have now 6 files indexed, the other 5 have an old description that I have changed alot of time ago.

Anyone have a clue?

You are not alone. There is some tech problem with MSN itself. So we can't do anything. I hope they will correct it ASAP.

Furthermore, you have used that same format for a number of your most important internal links . eg:
<a href="ht tp://yourdomainnamehere.com/Quotes/"

There is nothing wrong with this URL if 'Quotes' is a folder. URL ht tp://yourdomainnamehere.com/Quotes/ and ht tp://yourdomainnamehere.com/Quotes both are different for search engines. If 'Quotes' is a folder then the 1st one is correct and if it's a file then you should use the 2nd one.

And if you are using some URL rewriting technique then choose one version and stick with it.

Dear ,

It is because the pages listed on the SE are those which get linked from some page which are already listed. And also some of them are required by these SE for listing.

Keep working you will get it.
