Hi all,
I am not sure if its only me whos having this problem or there are others too who are facing it too. But after the BETA MSN search completion I've been regularly monitoring my websites rankings and have noticed a 'considerable drop' or even in some cases 'totally gone' (meaning:far, far, far down below).
But what bothers me the most is that the sites are successful in almost all SE's, except for the new MSN. Besides, these sites used to get on MSN top 10# or pretty decent rankings prior to the new MSN search algorithm.
Now the problem is that, I am pretty confused as to what should be my plan of action ? so as to improve the rankings on MSN without disrupting any on the others. What things should I do or perform fine tunning or probably impliment something inorder to achive better rankings on MSN ?
Now also I've waited for quite some time after the NEW realease, as there have been some imbalances and updates going on in the MSN search algorithm itself.
Please can anyone advice me, suggest or anything on how can I save my rankings on MSN. It'll be of great help to me.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to SEF samys. I've found my rankings to be very stable in msn and haven't seen any changes or imbalances you mention that would lead me to believe the algorithm is changing much (if at all) regularly.
Couple questions to help clarify your situation for us.
Do you have good quality links established to your site including the keywords. I suspect so if your rankings are good in google & yahoo, but if so this will typically lead to also having good rankings in msn.
MSN has a 'freshness' factor involved. I'm not sure of its role for sure in msn & google but it seems there is some relation to when a page was last updated/changed and the algorithm's factors. Have your pages stayed the same or have the changed much over the past few months?

Thanks for the warm welcome Logan and a quick reply.

I do have some good quality links or maybe just enough links so that these pages could be ranked decent in Google & Yahoo. But mostly I'ed say I dont have those many in quantity though.

Yes I've admit though, that these pages havent been updated that regularly. And I didnt have the need to update them as everthing was going so well untill the completion of the BETA MSN search.
Do you think there is a possiblity that MSN yet has to update the incomming links to my sites ? OR Maybe, MSN still requires more incomming links to the site so the it can give it credibility to rank higher.

Hi samys I've noticed the same thing w/ my pages. I have a site that does real well in Google and was doing well in MSN up until about 3 weeks ago. My pages weren't updated regularly but then in google I was #1 for several keywords and I didn't want to mess a good thing up. I really like the quality of MSN traffic though (they are buyers ), so I want to move back up in MSN.
Have you noticed that some of the sites that are now ranking above yours are kind of spammy? Some of the sites above mine hardly make sense. They are keyword rich but not meant I think for human eyes. They are using google adsense & banners to generate income. No content, in fact alot of them have googles search results appearing on their pages as the only content.
Any ideas to get above them without turning my own pages spammy and probably dropping in Google would be appreciated.
