Does anyone know of any key differences in the way MSN ranks pages in comparison to Google and Yahoo?

not really, its mostly speculation towards what they prefer, they like all the main things, like content, links, metatags(ish) stuff like that.

what I could guess, Google prefered links, but Jaggers here and has washed my theory away :s lol

So I suggest a good use of all the above. :D

MSN considers onpage optimization. MSN considers backlinks while giving page rank. If your backlinks are more & of high quality then it is very easy to get high rang in MSN.

Well, If you are optimizing for MSN its get optimzed for Yahoo with most of the part and vice versa, both Yahoo and MSN have high keyword density as compared with google and they are considering more on "on page factors".
