Hi all i need expert suugestion because i lost my rank 5 to 116 in msn.
What is going on with msn.I hold my 5 rank from last 1 month.

I was #1, then lost, now back to #1. I'm told that's typical of msn. How are you ranking today? Any change? Are you updating the content on your sight and building quality link partners?

I've seen positions drop for a few sites I am monitoring. I'm hoping they will return.

In my opinion MSN is the leader in "relevant" content generation. If you have made sure to add content and make sure your site is relevant to the search key than dont worry. At times MSN might drop your site for a day or two while indexing other pages it seems, you will most likely see it back up within a few days. Also at times SE's may have other sites indexed but not published at the time of search, it is possible to get beat out by the competition. I suggest adding a little bit of new page content to secure your spot.

What ppl mean by rank is the rank of there website in the search engines under a certain keyword

Ditto. Same thing happened to a video game site I have. As new sites are indexed, older ones go further back in the results. But as other sites are de-indexed, your site will return to its previous standings or near to them.

Do they count a backlinks own strength, like google? Or do they just go with quanitiy of backlinks?
