Can you give us some insight on what you have done so far? Perhaps a little information on what your product is?
Your question is pretty general...asking something more specific, or simply providing a bit more background will really help encourage folks to give you some feedback.

offer your product as a giveaway on a site that your customers would visit -- I have seen this recently on sites I go to and found it very clever and effective.

You could look into an affiliate program; when implemented well, you could reach highly relevant prospects/customers.
Sponsorship can be effective. Sponsorship is a mutual partnership. Target well-respected sources within your industry. The result is a positive attribute to your creditability.
Sponsorship differs from generic advertising in a sense that the sponsorship tends to be more of a permanent/long-term investment; it, generally, demands a higher level of commitment on your part also.
