I want to add a newsletter to my new site when it is up. I have researched various programs, but I still feel the best advice can come from people already using one. For now I am looking for a free one that can handle sending plain text or html, an admin section to see who is subscribed, ability to import and export addresses and must be opt-in, as in they must click a link on an email that is sent to them to confirm they want to be on the list. It would be great if some of you guys could recommend a program. I've looked on hotscripts and dmoz, but it is hard to tell the trash from the treasure, so user input is always best.
Thanks,
Brandon

I'm going to ask for this to be moved to Newsletters & eMail marketing - it's a better fit for the topic

You can use a scripts or simply, a free autoresponder.
Try autoresponsewizard.com . Totally free and tons of features. I use it for my newsletter so it should do the trick!

If you're looking for script, check out Subscribe Me at
http://www.siteinteractive.com/subscribe/
They got a free and paid version. Said that PC Magazine are using it too. Must be good?
