I am looking for new avenues to grow my business and I was wondering if my business fit the affiliate model.
My business offers restaurants their own websites with online ordering. We are the only ones that offer this model.
We charge for the setup fee, the monthly hosting and per order click. Our resellers today (street salespersons) closing 20 restaurants a month can make 200k in residuals in 5 years. This does not include the additional setup fee revenue of which the reseller receives 80%.
Biggest affiliate hurdle IMO - restaurants need to snail mail us menu for us to scan to create home splash page and enter in their menu.
I am new to affiliate programs but it seems like this might be the way to go. Change my website a little bit to accomodate and this could be a very lucrative program for myself and affiliates.
Do I have something here? What do I need to change? Website in profile.

If you pay salespeople, then you can potentially benefit from an affiliate program. There are many industries that have longer sales cycles and pay on a per-qualified-lead basis rather than straight commission.
I could definitely see you getting leads from affiliates, qualifying them (calling them personally to make sure that they're a qualified lead for you) and then paying the affiliate for generating the lead.
The biggest hurdle would be figuring out how much a qualified lead is worth to you.

I really like your web site. I even like how you can reserve seats if you want to. I just wanted to say that my co-worker and I ordered food from an online web site yesterday. So, I am glad that I read your post, because of my recent experiment with this! The only problem that we had with the company that we ordered from was that it took them to long to deliver our food. They were also pretty expensive. I have a couple questions for you though. Are all of your web sites based in a specific area? I only saw N.J. and N.Y. listed on your sample site. I really see where you have come up with a good idea for an online business! I would order from your clients if your clients were based in the south, and if they were reasonably priced. I hope that these suggestions help you!
