Does anybody hate the morons at Hotmail as much as I do? They were ok for the longest time but recently they have demonstrated that they have got to be the stupidest @#!##'ers on the planet. The list is endless of the stupid things they do. But here is a list right off the top of my head:

1.Hotmail accounts almost always are unable to send e-mail to AOL account. Although this could be the even bigger morons at AOL's fault.

2. All of a sudden Hotmail will not forward attachments.

3.Way, way too often receiving "server too busy " error message while doing anything within Hotmail.

4. Unable to use email links on websites like I had been doing without a problem for this past year.

5. Errors using spell check and a lot of the other "features"

6. All of a sudden it shows that I have no messages in my inbox when I know I have hundreds. I have to close the window and open a new one and log in again to see them again.

7. Sending email causes blank page after I hit send and does nothing. In the status bar at the bottom it says done. OR....it goes to a page that says the page cannot be displayed. I have had to go back and hit send again and again and again each time it does the same thing. Sometimes it takes about 10 or 15 tries before it finally goes through.

8. Each time I go back to try to send the email again (from 7. above) it adds a couple of lines to my email pushing the text of my message down the page each time it comes back to the page.

9. The Rich Text Editor does not always come on even though I have it set as the default.

10. This has got to be the absolute stupidest thing they have come up with. This d****d "Type the characters you see" in the box "idea"...and I use the term idea very loosely. They bludered this so badly that we can't even recognize the characters. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries before it finally works and then it goes back to the text of my email not indicating if it sent it or not. DUHHHHHHHHHH!

When I have complainged to their "tech support" about this I get the dumbest responses I have ever seen. They tell me the "engineers" (and I use that even more loosely) are aware of the problems and are working on them. I have gotten that response for months, so what does that tell you about the morons?

Then a number of times they tell me they have looked up my account and found that it is on a server they are having problems with. I've received this one too for months. Then they didn't even have the right account. They had something not even close to my account listed.

Then they sent me something where they seemed to be proud, saying these problems have now been fixed and they were not fixed at all. Nothing had changed. At least it made me laugh after the anger settled down.....

I'm losing track of all the problems so I'm sure there are one's that I am leaving out here. Man....MS should be totally embarrassed and shamed by all of this. This is the most unprofessional, poorest quality product I have ever seen. I do have some expertise in this area as I am a programmer. But it doesn't matter because this is all basic stuff to an end user.

I wish we could exploit this better and embarrass the hell out of them!

Val

It is as free as all the other email servers like Yahoo etc. that seem to have it together. Hotmail is getting money from the advertisers and letting them down. And yes I could switch but it would be a major pain as I would have to change my email address and make sure I have all my email messages off the Hotmail server first etc. etc. I have been with them for a long time and come to rely on them and trust them to maintain my messages etc. For the last 6 months or so it had been getting progressively worse.

Free or not if they are in business and providing something professionally then they should back it up with professionalism. I don't understand why they aren't concerned about looking so badly.

Air is free too but if someone is poisoning it are we just going to be greatful that it's free?

I don't mean to be sarcastic but it's hard to convey that just in writing...(:D)

I'm sorry - I didn't mean to discount your experiences. Yes, I agree, it is a huge frustration to use the thing.

I gave up using hotmail years ago but even back then it had problems.

Both is even better smile Gmail, Hotmail AND outlook.

Just use Outlook, it will take care of the problem. Even then again, it can't connect properly to the hotmail servers...
