Does anyone know how Affiliate Programs are viewed by Google and other bots?
There is a proliferation of Affiliate Programs on the net and many smack of spam.

They are generally non spiderable links that go to redundant content. The affiliate IDs used in tracking are avoided by the bots. If the bot does happen to follow through, they see duplicate content.
If you do have a good compeling and informative page, an affilitate link may help you attract human visitors to spend their money.

For this reason, I am a bit worried about providing datafeeds for our affiliates. I am worried that their pages may outrank ours in the SERPS. I wonder if anybody has any thoughts on this?

In the case of google I think they are a disaster. Obviously depending on how the link/url is written.
I did a test. I designed a good content site. But all the links out were affiliate no natural link and Google hated it.
Yahoo on the other hand it didn't do to bad in pages getting listed. But in the SERP is bombed on that to.
It may have been the design but I think it was the affiliate links. And having spoken to friends who are more into affiliate design websites they tend to agree with my findings.
