I'm going to offer Affiliate services to my clients...

But don't know which software to use...

I'd like to offer the Affiliate as part o my website as against being diverted to another website for Affiliate Management.

pls suggest as to which software o need to buy or should I just develop an in-house software..

Any advice wouyld be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I'm an affiliate management consultant and have worked with most of the popular solutions out there. I also work with thousands of affiliates and know that one of the most important considerations in selecting tracking software, is to use a program that partners not only trust, but are used to - so it's easier & faster for them to get links and check stats.

Rolling your own software, is not a great idea. Now matter how long you take, chances are it will not be as good as the programs that have been tried, tested and improved over the years. Plus many affiliates won't trust it.

The strong affiliates you want are pros that value their time and traffic. They want a comfortable interface they are used to, with all the reports they are accustomed to and hopefully one place to log-in and check several programs at once. Having a top name program they trust to do accurate tracking is a must.

So my top recommendation is MyAP from Kowabunga. MyAP is considered the #1 rated affiliate software if you want to own your own software. One of the BIG benefits to MYAP is that once you have their software you can be added to their new Kolimbo network - and their Affiliatecash directory at no additional charge.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
Linda

My personal experiences with MyAP (as an affiliate) are mediocre. I have had no problems, and everything seems to run smooth and accurately, but it is lacking some flexibility. I only belong to one affiliate program that uses this software, so purhaps it is not configured to its best extent, but I find that tracking where specific sales come from is simply not as powerful as other programs I have used.

From my own experience, some of the programs I am part of use in house tools, and offer much greater flexibility and options. Developing an inhouse program, would likely be VERY expensive and timely, so may not be the best route, but at least you could offer exactly what the affiliates wanted...
