Well I decided to take the plange and join an affiliate programme.

It's an opportunity to capitalize in the online streaming media market. The whole idea is that anyone who uses e-mail will love real time video e-mail chat products. And is not just a specific target audience, anyone and any business from Realtor, auto dealerships, online marketers, schools, fortune 1000 companies and more need these services.

My questions is will it survive? We have bought into the mobile phone idea, the internet, emails etc. Will video emailing survive? I think it will, what about you? What do you think?

I will really be interested in your views and opinions.

Media, in all it's format, will flourish in the coming year. It will take some rethinking by the marketing firms though, because content on mobile devices and the web need to be geared towards those particular user's habits.

how do you know you don't want something if you have not tried it? It was the same with mobile phones and any new technology that comes out. We say we don't want it, then somehow in the end it becomes a necessity.

I know what the concept of video email is and I don't have a use for it. Video email basically means bloat-mail. Instead of a simple email that presents a message, you now get an email that plays a video to say basically the same thing only in a voice and picture instead of reading words and a file format that takes up 100's of times the hard drive space. I'm NOT saying that video email has absolutely no place, but that it likely won't replace simple text email messages. There's just not much reason to use video over text for the most part.

I think of all the sites out there that unnecessarily use flash instead of simple html. Many of those flash sites are a pain because they don't make surfing easy or they take up too much time waiting for them to run in order to easily surf to the meat of the site.

Case in point:
I'm trying to send someone instructions on how to set up their MS outlook to do something. I can either 1) write down bullets in an orderly fashion so they can follow them step by step or 2) try to organize and video tape me speaking the instructions. Think the written instructions are going to be more efficient. Much of the communication in email is like that. Video email is probably going to be more of a novelty item than some practical way of communicating via email.

Any new technology is going to be over-exposed when first introduced. Then when the novelty wears off, it will either find a place in the scheme of things, replaced with something new, or drop off the face of the Earth entirely. Video will definately be used as a way of communication. Whether it's used within email has yet to be determined.

I think Video is the next era on the Net,only 75% of email reaches it's target, however I think at the moment bandwith is the biggest problem,I wish you every success.

Do you have any examples of how this is implemented?

Certainly, embedding the video in the email would not work - too big. With all the spam filters in email clients these days, embedding Flash is not practical - the email client won't play it.

I'd like to hear more about this.
