I know the UK affiliate marketing industry is hot as evidenced by so many strong UK affiliates and some great UK affiliate networks. To double in market size is pretty impressive though. Keep an eye on the UK and what they are doing. And merchants for Gods sake do not set your CJ account to accept only US affiliates. This is a world wide marketing biz we're in. If you need to close out certain countries that typically have a lot of fraud, fine, but be sure to open your program up to UK affiliates. They are some of the strongest out there! From MarketingVOX:

"Affiliate marketing is becoming a real no-brainer for many businesses looking to drive online sales while avoiding the usual risks associated with online and offline marketing," according to E-consultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein, because affiliates "are themselves becoming increasing savvy as internet marketers."

Among key affiliate marketing trends identified in the report: Financial services, gambling, telecom, entertainment, travel and consumer electronics are sectors with strong growth rates; affiliate marketing remains largely consumer-focused; affiliate marketing is outsourced to agencies by 15 percent of merchants; and affiliate networks expect consolidation within the next few months."
