My team will be launching a new search engine in January '06, and have been struggling to come up with a name. Our meta search engine has a lot of new features and has very fast searching capabilities. Originally we decided on Metalocity.com, but this domain is taken and we have not been able to acquire it.

The name of a website is very important, and we would like to receive input from everyone. We are looking for something very unique or catchy, so if you have any name suggestions please let us know.

Thanks!

If this is a general - all subject type search engine then I suggest something very short and/or easy to remember.

The name you tried to get is not easy to recall. ( in my opinion ). something like fastsearch - finditfast - etc. many many options are out there for this type of a domain name.

If it is only for specifics along the lines of more of a directory then I would say name it what it is about - example - carsearch - catsearch - catse - car se - lacitysearch etc.

my 2 cents smile

Beth

I thank you both for the comments, and will certainly take them into consideration when we decide on a final name.

Happy Holidays!

Michael
