Hi guys & gals,

I need your advice. Here's the situation: I recently started an affiliate program for a product that I sold very successfully via direct mail. Now I'm looking to venture online to promote my product and I'm seeking to recruit successful affiliates to help me grow my online sales.

I signed up with ClickBank to handle my affiliate program. Now my only issue is finding affiliates. I'm especially interested in finding people that already achieved great success with another affiliate program.

I though about advertising on ClickBank's log-on page, but it cost roughly $1,000 a week and to get an advertising space could take me months since other advertisers have locked space for months--I guess it must really work. Anyway, I think $1,000 a week is a bit too much to start-off with. I just want to test the water first before I plunge into it. I've thought about using Googlle Adwords to find people interested in joining an affiliate program.

Does anyone here have any ideas that might help me? I would greatly appreciate your hep.

I don't have a magicbullet solution, but a couple comments after reading your post. First $1000 may seem like a whole lot but it might be a drop in the bucket if the return is there. Be aggressive and don't just consider the cost but what return it can provide. I do agree you should be cautious as you state at the beginning. The reality is you don't know if your site converts yet. Adwords can be a good route. It costs little to test things. When you set up your campaign at first you want to qualify visitors as much as possible. A couple thoughts to do this ... target keywords including affiliate specifically, do a lot of keyword research, use exact/phrase matching, restrict your advertising to search only, track your conversions. As you guage how your site converts/performs then you can broaden those parameters and move towards more expensive campaigns like clickbank with more confidence.
