Hello all,

Do you have any advise on how I can get my visitors to register and post on my forum?

Also, are there websites where I can list my forum?

Thanks for the help!

First there are many directories, you need to submit your forums. Initially you need to be active, post many topics on your forum. Participate in many forums which are relevant to your forum subject. Have a signature and then keep your profile name same as forum name etc.

In many forums there are discussions on how to get visitors for the new forums. Please read them.

czy, I had a look at the site in your profile and it seems to be a great resource on the topic. What you want to do is concentrate on luring your site visitors into the forum.

Unfortunately, there are so many links on the page that I had to really look to even find a link to the forum. It is easy to overlook. I would put it up top on the main menu and at the bottom of the page as well.

You could also put links next to your tutorials, such as "Discuss Saltwater Basics in our forum" and put a link at the end of each tutorial page.

While it's not exactly 100% honest, one thing some people do is to "seed" their forum a bit to make it look busier. Many people will see it as not active enough to want to join up. Create a few accounts to post under and get some dialog going. No one need know it's you.

Change the locked "Welcome From Czarina" forum to an open "Introduce Yourself" forum. Welcome new members individually, ask them questions.

Recruit a few moderators to help you grow the forum.

Hold a contest and tout it on your front page.

"To celebrate the opening of our new forums, we're having a contest! All members who make X number of posts by <deadline> will be entered into a drawing to win <whatever prize>."
