Tips for Succesfull Affiliate Promotion
How to promote
DO NOT use the url that an affiliate program provides for you.
Link first to a page on your site, where people will find the actuall affiliate link.
Why?
1. You can provide links to the rest of your site.
2. People get to see your site and the other products you are offering.
3. You can submit the page to search engines
4. You can track your ad response with your own site statistics.
Put ALL your affiliate reviews on one page!
It will give the visitor chance to choose different offer if he is not interested in the one you direct him to.
PROTECT YOUR AFFILIATE LINKS.
MAKE SPECIAL OFFER stating that you will give him a bonus if they buy from you. Choose a really good product. You can find perfect free offers here.
Tell them to send you receipt after purchase.
Another reason to do this is to get him/her on your mailing list so you would be able to follow up with further promotions. As an affiliate once your visitor click on your link you have lost him.

Putting all your offers on one page makes your site an ugly mess of cheap tat that will put off all but the bravest. And the bravest usually have too much common sense to be caught by your desperate methods.
The key to successful affiliate marketing is so simple it's frightening:
Differentiate your page from the other 20,000 clone sites
After that, it's seo - just as you would for any other Quality site.
And I didn't need a sad link drop either

You are right - you do not need the "sad link drop". You need to drop your sad site! Ohhh sorry - you need it - for sad attitude...
Good luck
