I am using Ken Evoy's SiteBuild It program for a site I'm working on. A number of pages have been submitted for three to four weeks now without being spidered. (A few have been spidered by just Lycos or Hot Bot). Is this a normal time-table, or has something gone awry?

I am not familiar with the program you mentioned however it might be possible to provide suggestions if you update your profile with address of the site so that we can take a look.

In general, the indexing process is quite slow unless you pay for submission (into the Inktomi database and Looksmart for example).

Given their pay-day was scheduled on a Saturday (14th) it may take another day or two. If you don't have a check by Saturday and you live in the US, my advice is to immediately pull all SI ads.

If you don't have a check by Saturday my advice is to stop cheating. I've been with SI since September of 2000 and have gotten checks on time every single month, including March's check which I got on Tuesday.

Oh no here we go again. The whole speal about how if your not getting paid you are cheating. That line is getting really old around here. I used to find SI threads amusing and now they make me sick.

Even if this person was supposidly cheating (what I mean is if SI thinks they are cheating whether they are or not) their account should be shut down and not let run and then not pay them. [ Rude comment removed. ] Because if this is a tactic they are using, they could use it with anyone and just pick and choose who to pay on who not just by making acusations way after the fact.

If an affiliate program has enough terms and is subjective in how they are interpreted and enforced, then a lot of people are going to be in violation, esp. if they have several sites and are constantly changing ad code... There's no other program that is discussed in this manner so there IS something unique in how SI operates. It's much more likely they'll pay if you're on the lower end of the traffic scale and you defend them in public forums and hang out in their own forum, touting the line.

But I think we're jumping the gun... Sat to Wed is too soon to jump to the conclusion.

when you're anon you can make up just about any story you want. right pacificguy? right levelii?

ferret, when your affiliate program opens, you run it as you suggest it should run. it will be great!
when is the launch date again?

Oh Robert, cut it out! Or was that Ron??

And when they're not anonymous, it would be veeery easy to terminate their account, not tell them and not pay them.

We've already had the thread about Ron offering a hundred dollar bounty for the identity of someone who said something not-utterly-positive on this forum.

You know the attitude of these SI guys really reminds me alot of the eFront logs.

I bet we would consider the eFront logs tame if we could get the same type of thing from SI

easy_when_youre_anon, is it an attack just because someone mentions SI? All he did was ask if others had gotten checks yet. Is there some reason why SI checks can't be mentioned without you guys coming here to trash our forums?

    Jim-

I am curious can one actually be sued for slander for posting opinions in a forum such as this? (off topic I know) I would assume you have some idea what the legal terrian is on this. Feel free to answer in email if you feel it is innapropriate to do so here.

    Hello.

I don't see anyone attacking or slandering you. A fellow asked if anyone had gotten their checks yet that were just coming due. They ask each other that type of question all the time about all kinds of companies. The only company that runs over here to whine about it is SI.

The attack came from one of your trained attack dogs that keep posting insults against anyone who mentions your company. Please have your people stop trying to run my forums and get back to minding their own business.

    Jim-

Wish I had it here but my lawyer sent SI/Robert a demand for payment. They shot back that we violated terms (shocking) and that we were slandering them on this forum.

I fail to see how posting opinions can be slander but anyway...

Now it appears Robert has taken to deriding at least one of my sites as a prime "cheating" example. (www.saver-search.com) This was pointed out to me in this forum. Funny but this site has been performing well for another very very similar program, hard to believe a "cheating" site could do so well.

Anyway I don't even know why I am typing this. It is obvious the only way to defeat a bully is it ignore them and let the lawyers hash it out. This of course is my opinion, and should not be construed as anything but my own personal opinion.

I ended up with Search Fuel.

I am pretty happy with them, they are responive and they pay me. However, reccomending them now would be a stretch as I seriously doubt they are accepting new members.

I use them on sites where I am not concerned about my brand as much. They are a decent service but I am not sure how wonderfult the search is from a user perspective.

It's only slander if it's not true, and if it's an opinion then again, it is not slander. For it to be slander it must be stated as a fact...

    quote:

A question, not a statement, obviously not a fact.

    quote:
If you don't have a check by Saturday and you live in the US, my advice is to immediately pull all SI ads. - levelii
Clearly an opinion, and far from slander anyway.

If there's any slander in this thread, this is the one, I think levelii should sue.

I'd second doodle on the searchfuel thing, I haven't worked with them but the sheer size of the thread in SEF goto forum would have me worried about working with them.

The slander accusation was from an older thread. (heading: small claims court retracted) It was all opinion, in my opinion (I am starting to sound like Bill Clinton, that rhymes).

On Search Fuel, they really have been good to me... I saw the SEF threads about them and I am confused. How can they inflate clicks via an affiliate program? Can someone explain this one?
