Hi All,
Having a bit of a problem with the shopping system on my site, I have several products split into seperate folders within the root directory ie product1, product2 etc.

I am using Jshop Pro to control the shopping system, the problem is everytime I add a product from each category a new cookie is created so no I have 2 cookies called product1 and product2 instead of just the one.

The only way to make the whole thing work is to place all the products in one directory which then produces just the one cookie.

Any ideas ??

Many Thanks

Steve W

Had the same problem myself once and your answer was the same one I arrived at.

Know when you get your telephone bill, and your tel. co. are telling you what service you've had and how much you need to send them and when they want it by? That's the invoice...

Send your invoice, bill, whatever they want you to call it. State clearly on it:

who you are
where you are
how much you want to be paid
when you want to be paid (ie. within 14 days of date of invoice)
what you want to be paid for (ie. what service have you provided that they are paying you for).

Probably not the most helpful contribution...

Yes, it's basically what Rob said. It's a piece of paper which finalises a transaction.

Here is an example:

Doodle, that's not very helpful at all - in fact, it seems kind of mean. Please refrain.

Feel free to contribute something constructive. One of the reasons this forum exists *is* for questions like this.

sorry to be mean...

I could not help myself. Perhaps it is constructive (in some backhanded way)? Perhaps we should all do a little Biz 101?

Doodle there was no need for what you said I have always just been payed straight by check and now some one wants me to send them an invoice, I thought I knew what this was but I am sure you will agree considering I never done one before it was worth While asking to make sure I did not make a mistake, as under no curcamstances do I want to delay payment so its best to ask than make a mistake you may find this funny but me not asking would be the joke as that would mean I am stupid.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings... but this highlights the problem traditional advertisers have with online buying. I think it needs to be stressed that to make money online in the coming years business practices need to be straightened up.

You're probably right doodle. We could all stand to learn more of the publishing business. If you'd like to volunteer to put together a couple pages with definitions of terms/standard practices and some sample forms like Insertion Orders, Invoices and perhaps RFQ/RFPs I'm sure it would be a great service to this community.

Or perhaps you have some good resources for such things that you'd like to point out?

I don't really know where to point anyone on this. I would think just a basic textbook on advertising/marketing might help...

I would put together a resource guide if I had the time....

JKcity,
I *think* that there is an "Invoice" wizard built into Word/Works. It may just be as easy as popping in your addy and the amount they owe you.

I'll tell you a funny story. I can't name the merchant, because I'm still an affiliate of theirs and they pay me generously... it would have been even more Kafkaesque if I could name the company, because they are a multi-million pound household name.

I hadn't been paid even though 60 days had passed after the end of a quarter (payment was supposed to be after 30 days) and so I emailed them.

They wrote back saying I needed to send them an invoice every quarter.

So I did that and got paid.

The next quarter I emailed them an invoice. The same affiliate manager emailed me back saying "why the hell have you sent us an invoice, we don't need invoices".

I waded through my emails and sent him a copy of the email in which he requested invoices from now on...

Suffice to say he never got back to me and had his secretary send me a cheque...

Affiliate managers, they don't know what the hell they are doing half the time.

That's correct. This MSWord invoice template works just fine.

Microsoft has a very extensive design template gallery on their website and there's SEVERAL templates for invoices there.
