I am webmaster of a site on which we want to start offering banner advertising. Can anyone make some referrals on a good banner ad rotation program?

After a few months of sleepless nights and bloodshot eyes I have launched my site. It's been less than two weeks since my official launch and I'm probably a little impatient, but I'm getting tired of talking to myself on the forums. Any ideas as far as kick starting participation? The same goes for newsletter subscription. I also wonder about moderators. What is the standard moderator relationship? What is given/taken? How does one find a good moderator? I am also curious. This is purely for inspirational purposes (mine), but what sort of growth timelines have you experienced? It seems as though most of the users on this site are logging millions of pageviews and tens of thousands of unique sessions per month. I guess my questions deal with growth and development overall. I feel I have planted the seeds for a useful and interesting community. Now what? Thanks Chris

I've only reciently discovered this site but ive allready got over 10, 000 hits. I think this review best explains it all. Here is my link which will mean you go under as my referral http://www.startblaze.com/cgi-bin/intro.cgi?22049 however if you dont wish to do that, and because i know spam is a big problem and i dont want to endorce it or participate in it here is the sites original referral free link- http://www.startblaze.com/ The only reason i posted this is because i know how hard it is for starting webmasters to get a break. So either way i recommend you join. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Product Review: S t a r t B l a z e Concept: Website Traffic Building System Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 Ease of Use: 5 out of 5 Effectiveness: 5 out of 5 Recommendation: Use it Immediately - Mission Critical Tool Price: FREE We heard some buzz about the new free traffic building system called StartBlaze created by Mark Joyner of Aesop.com and decided to test it out. Mark and his guys are always releasing *something* over there, but this one is unique - and breathtakingly cool. We could probably fill up volumes with all the cool features, but rather than waste your time, we thought we'd just give you the URL so you could try it out yourself: http://www.startblaze.com/cgi-bin/intro.cgi?22049 Listen, this thing is so easy, and so effective that you would be certifiably insane not to use this immediately. I mean that. Bottom Line: This is probably the most effective traffic building system we have ever encountered. We just hope it stays free... You should get it now while it still is. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Depends on your monthly traffic. Central Ad Pro 3.0J from CentralAd.com was pretty ok (it costs $150) but it started to collapse under the weight of my site's traffic (collapse point came at about 400,000 page-views a month, each with 2 ads on them)I understand that some sites have used the CentralAd system to serve a couple of million impressions a month, but they are using very large dedicated servers. I have switched to AdJuggler (from AdJuggler.com) which is $995 and worth every cent. It seems to have no perceivable slowdown even when severely stressed by traffic (my site now serves upto 29,000 pages per day so 58,000 impressions, and at its peak served 5 pages per second). AdJuggler offers sophisticated "pools" for managing the allocation of ads across a site, and can be configured to automatically mail an advertiser a report on a time basis, or after a certain number of clicks or impressions. Great stuff, and the support staff reply to email without hours, not days! Just a satisfied customer...

I'm not 100% sure but this looks like it might just be SPAM to me! /sarcasmGet lost SPAM boy! Do you honestly believe anyone is going to sign up through your referral link? I'd say there's a 0% chance of that.

If your site does less traffic than the aformentioned, I might suggest WebAdverts by Daryl Burgendorf (my apologies on the spelling, DB).This perl script program can work with SSI or without. There are numbering opinions on the support forum on how much traffic it can support, but I'd say >5,000 pages per day is a great range for this script. Not sure the full url, but maybe www.awsd.com

I'm using CentralAd Pro 3.0J right now, I was considering AdJuggler for $1000 but that's on the high-end, and I will be moving to a dedicated machine this weekend (PII 450, 256 MB RAM, 3 4 GIG SCSI HDD from DigitalNation) so CentralAd Pro should be able to handle anything I can throw at it.Two problems with CentralAd Pro: a) Someone ran a robot against my site today generating hundreds of fake clickthroughs. There's no IP logging in CentralAd Pro to prevent anything like that from occuring. b) In the advertiser statistics screen CentralAd Pro does not report the number of impressions remaining to be served.

How do you buy a list and still have opt-in and not spam?

"Listen, this thing is so easy, and so effective that you would be certifiably insane not to use this immediately. I mean that."Yup, posted with your referral code, that sure sounds like an independent viewpoint to me. Definitely not spam, eh?

I've seen this done before, but the content was the same. In other words, the person buying the list was going to provide the same content as the person selling the list.

Even if this wasn't spam, this has nothing to do with contests or sweepstakes. Referral links are also not allowed. If it looks like spam and smells like spam, there's a good chance it's spam... Thread closed.
