hello:

i've got a local website www.birminghamnet.com and i'm thinking the best way to promote it locally for a good price would be with stickers. any idea of places (url's) that have good prices on stickers. also, please take a look at my site and give me some idea on promoting it locally.

thanks

Starting on Feb. 22, if Flycast doesn't have a paid ad to show, they will show a CPC ad instead of a PSA. Affiliates will also be able have their default ad shown.

Hi
I am fairly happy with the numbers of visitors I am getting to my site but my concern now is how do I convert these visitors to customers. In my business it is ten times more expensive to get a new customer than sell to a current customer. If this is the case then my logic is I now need to concentrate on how I convert my visitors to customers. Has any one got any suggestions that we could share?

Are you talking about bumper stickers? I have been thinking about buying a url plate at http://www.primelinx.com to see if they work or not. I think this might stand out a little better than a bumber sticker.

P.S. I am not affiliated with that site in any way.

More often than not, I'd prefer my default over a CPC campaign. It's good to see Flycast addressing the inventory shortage issue, though.

I have read once of Jim's thought of having T-shirts with our URL's given as a promo.

Why don't you run a contest for "best picture" or something like that...

make the site have a better layout so people can eaisly see whats going on.

se scripts so peopel can easily submit pictures.

optomize your images as well, they are all way to large and eventually will start eating itno your bandwidth.

Tab there are a few things you should know about site statistics. Because you've had 2000 hits does not mean 2000 people visited your site. Each hit is a file that is looked at. So every picture, page and such is one hit each. Not to mention your site takes quite awhile to load. Trying compressing the pictures as well.

Alright. Thanks for the feedback.

Saves, I'll agree; most don't take pictures of toilets. It's NOT a difficult thing to do, though. It's FUNNY...

Thanks dgeer. There HAD to be something different....

Tapolyai, I thought about a contest or a poll or something like that. Seems most of those things need asp code. I know so little about ASP I can't even spell it We're thinking of making t-shirts or something. Perhaps we could give those away as a prize for the best/most submission(s)

jkcity,

There have beeb some modifications, and we are (at least for now) tweeking the site until we find a GOOD layout. Take a look at it now. What do you think? Others have suggested the pic size thing too. I didn't realize they were that big. I was using Image Composer, and when you make a picture smaller, it doesn't make the SIZE smaller. I didn't realize it at the time. I'm now using Photoshop. As for the bandwidth, I'm connected via DS/3 (28 T-1's or 45 meg/second), so that's not -at least for now- an issue

raulin,

Thanks for your input as well. The hit counter only counts the main page. I'm now up to 7000 hits. The log files reveal that MOST people hit more than the first page. The images should be fixed. They are all now "optimized for the web" at 128 colors. As the page was when you saw it was a heinous mistake on my part (just shows my lack of knowledge).

Celicaphile,
Sorry to disapoint you. I've never heard of johnsjohn. Can I assume from your remarks you don't approve of the site?
"maybe you two should get together & make a big stink :P" That's funny.

Here is one:

Maybe you should think about adding a discussion forum to your site where divers can chat and help answer others questions. That would be neat

I agree with the other points. A few tweaks here and there could help the conversion rate out big time
