Hi, I'm trying like crazy , but need help in building my oscommerce site. Specifically, I am trying to change background color and then it messes up the whole page, also I need to know how to add my contact information to the bottom of the first page and then how to showcase some things. I am a poet and want to sell 52 poems on pretty stationery.
Thanks!
Amy

If you want sections of your site in different colours add tables and make the background of the tables the colour you want. As for the contact on the frontpage you can use html like:
<a href="mailto:yourname@youraddress.com.au">. Most web editors will let you do this easily e.g. frontpage, dreamweaver etc.,
Re showcase some things, i need more info on that one.

I may be a little late with this reply as I am new to this particular forum but if you still need help the background color is changed in the Body in the file style.css in the root.
the index page text is changed in /languges/english/index.php
and the bottom of all pages is changed in the root footer.php
re the rest you need to read the documentation and gointo the admin panel usually found at yoursite.com/catalog/admin/ or yoursite.com/admin/

sorry just read that again and noticed a mistake - should have been includes/footer.php
and text can either be changed in includes/languages/english/whateverfile.php
or via admin panel in tools/define languages/filename
