    I own [url removed]

My competition are the big boys. Has anyone had much luck creating the links to their site to help with search engines? I can't compete with the pay-per-click prices. I am trying SEO but still can't get people to link to me.

I took a dramitic reduction of traffic after google made it changes a few months ago.

I have a few revenue streams from the site but I am hoping more traffic equal more $$$$

Looking to hear back from someone with an utomotive site.

Do you have an affiliate program? If you are selling products with good margins, then an affiliate program can rapidly get you backlinks. If you participate in various industry related forums, newsgroups etc, put your affilate program details in your signature (if allowed). Once your affiliates are in place, you can always suspsend sign ups.

Also if you have few to no backlinks, consider a few items:

1.) Get into dmoz. Though it is dying, many sites still use it for directories.

2.) Build related content sites that link to your company site. We have had excellent success with the latter. These are not spam sites -- but sites with real content.

3.) Make sure your pages are being indexed properly. Many ecommerce programs use poor id strings that block many pages from getting crawled.
