Hi,

I am thinking about starting a Casino site. I have scouted one out and am interested in purchasing this. My question is this. I am located in Ontario, Canada, are there any legal implications that I should take into consideration?

I currently have 2 other website (not casino's) up, so I do have a host already, but I am not sure what the regulations are as far as starting a site like this one.

Basically what I am purchasing is a site that is linked to another site (in essence a 'Mother' site), it is already developed and I would simply have to market the site. Then I get a percentage of the wagers that people who have registerred through my site have bet.

Any advice would be very welcome. As well if I have placed this in the wrong forum please let me know as I was not too sure where to put this.

Thanks in advance smile

Running one form Canada will be fine, but you are aware of the current online gambling climate int he US - right? ...and yo know it takes tens of thousands of dollars to start, operate and market an online casino successfully - right.

PS - that's tens of thousands each MONTH.

I rarely tell folks NOT to persue something of interest to them - but seriously, skip this vertical for the time being.

Do some reading on the recent Internet Gambling Ban legislation int he US and see what it's done to the industry.

The bottom line is this:

If it were THAT easy to get a profitable casino up and running, absolutely everyone would have done it and been successful. wink

Thanks for the reply. I am currently looking for some ready made scripts related to gambling and poker (If available)

This website is surely not targeted towards U.S. It will be particularly towards Australia smile

trust me when I say this:

Don't bother trying to run an online gaming site targeting North Americans right now.

If you think you can be profitable targeting just Canadians, think again. You're about 7 years too late. Those currently in the market space have the players and new ventures just aren't working in the current climate.

BTW - to set up and run a proper online gaming site costs tens of thousands of dollars to start properly.
