If you were starting a niche PPC engine, what engine would you use for backfill results to supplement your results? Is Overture providing such results now? If they are not, and even if they are, who else rates high in terms of technical reliability, high bid prices and honest ethical business practices? If we're talking a European focus, would the recommendation be different? Thanks for any advice.Ray Campbell

Well if your Search Engine isn't up, meaning doesn't have a track of how many searches you pull monthly. Then major PPCs like Overture, Findwhat, epilot, etc. Wont bother. But when you get millions of searches contact them because that right their can make you tens of thousands of dollars. IF you need one You can contact me, and I will give you a guaranteed amount per click through, which is better than the %age for smaller PPCs because a click will equal less than a cent.

It would also depend on your niche. I'm sure most PPCs would waive the minimum unique IP/search requirement for a solid web hosting themed site, widely recognized as the place to go for info on web hosting. If I were to guess, I would say the ballpark figure you are looking for is somewhere around 3,000 unique IP's and 12,000 searches per day. Hard to say though. ePilot, 7search, sprinks, and ah-ha, are very professional and customer service oriented. We've been approached by almost every major player to provide their results. We were/are flattered, but had to make some difficult choices to limit our selection. Most people don't want to get 100% PPC results in their metasearch. In addition, you really can't query 20 + engines in a timely manner. Also, an interesting side statistic...not everyone will click on your top 1 - 3 results...you will be dissappointed if you are thinking that you'll be getting a huge percentage of clickthroughs on the top 1 - 3.
