Hi everyone,I'm a web designer who has recently moved into ASP. I would describe myself as a beginner come intermediate developer. I have developed my own search directory (only 88 listings at present). I would love someone to take a look at what I've done because I'm struggling to believe it could be so easy. I'm currently using an access 97 db with the ASP source code back engineered from of all things a Forum. One of the main things I would like to achieve is instead of having a long winded submit form I would like an asp programme which could spider a web page. I know this can be achieved using a COM but can it be achieved whithout one? If anyone could offer any advice it would be appreciated. Also I've considered posting my work on a open source site so other users could use the code. What are your thoughts on this? Great Forum Very Useful. Robert

Just to clarify a few things (which may help)The site is hosted on free webspace so if the site becomes popular, bandwith usage could become a problem. The good news is that I have the chance to take up some serious webspace with a host who only supports mySql(So I've had to buy a book on mySql) Not access. Todate my only costs have been my domain name which i've had for several years and my db which I have other uses for. I have not stress tested the site! I hope this helps.

Looks nice. I can't fault it. The main thing would be to stress test it before you get too many listings. It would be a shame to really get rolling and find out the code just won't scale.I do like the simple clean look.

A directory has sites listed by category. You have a search engine.
