Hi, all -
My web site gets a good deal of traffic from MSN UK but when I look for listings with the keywords I've targeted, I can't find my site in any within the first 4 pages. Is there something I don't know about UK searchers? Do they hunt through many more pages? I'm just confused as to how I can be getting all this traffic, but not be able to see any rankings. I suppose it's possible that users are coming through on a completely different bunch of keywords, but given that I track a LOT of keywords, that seems unlikely. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance!

Instead of looking for them via terms you targeted have you looked at your logs to see what they are finding you by?

Quite often sites end up ranking for terms they didn't even think about let alone target - the only way to know that is by looking at the search string (or using a log analysis program that pulls them out for you)

Yeah, I checked, and a good chunk of traffic is coming in through words we've targeted specifically (and then some, of course) - we use WebTrends. But even for those keywords we've targeted that are driving traffic via MSN UK, as for listings - zip, zilch, zero. Very odd.

Sometimes there is a difference depending on where they are searching from (as in continent). I know I often get different SERPs (in the USA) than someone in the UK or Australia.
