looksmart.com has no listed vertical or results from wisenut.com ?? It appears to be results from findarticles only? Google has links showing that looksmart are feeding thier verticals to a website owned by "network solutions" looksmarttech.com is feeding white labeled results to looktechgames.com (owned by Vortal Interactive). What is going on here FlyingRose ? With looksmart management leaving the company it looks like they are being taken over by network solutions ? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. |

Here is a bit more information flyingRose. this is the entire list of looksmart verticals listed on a vortal interactive website. [link] And here are 3 links that confirm that they are also linked to another "network solutions" website. [link] [link] [link] For me the how2.com site seems more developed than vortal.com or tolooka.com [link] It will be interesting to see what Looksmarts response is but I doubt they'll say too much. |

No problem flyingRose, hope you're feeling better. btw here is another link I found. point.com is with out a doubt being feed by looksmart verticals. when you click on the links most of them take you to another look.com site, but some of them take you directly to vortal.com. E.G. if you go to this site [link] and click on "scooters" (listed in the "Auto" links) you will see it takes you straight to this site [link] so we have evidence that Looksmart verticals are feeding point.com-vortal.com-how2search.hotwired.com-looktravel.us how2search.hotwired.com is "loaded" with quality advertisers, but as with the other sites has no relevant search functions working at this stage. I'm wondering if Looksmart will also be supplying feeds from wisnut.com ?? there are already some links to findarticles.com Interesting stuff. |

###wisenut is officially dead.#### Wisenut is still being used, but no longer as a direct search engine, it's being offered as white labeled search. refer to the infomation below [link] "Provide your audience with search results as relevant as leading search sites - and without porn, hate, or other offensive content" -------------------- The site below is not owned by looksmart, it is owned by "network solutions" up until a few days ago the website was dormant. That's why I found it of interest. [link] Clearly Looksmart are providing these verticals, but their links are no longer active on their old website. [link] they are also feeding this site, owned by Lycos [link] ------------ Yes I hold shares in looksmart, and I find these developments interesting. I came here to see what you guys know.................??? We think that Looksmart are working on a very big "vertical search" project, and that Network solutions is the key player. Sure the sites look a bit out of date at the moment, but I think you'll see some big changes very soon ;-) Thanks for the comments. |

Last time I spoke with Looksmart a few weeks ago or possibly a little longer they told me they were changing direction. They don't own the search engine any more but still offer advertising. |
