I've seen some "e-books" that are somewhat pricey, and am skeptical that I can learn anything that I can't learn in the AdWords Help or by Trial & Error...so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a free resource (preferably concise) that gives good ideas on how to use AdWords effectively.

"[ I ] am skeptical that I can learn anything [ from over-priced e-books ] that I can't learn in the AdWords Help or by Trial & Error"
Yes, celife. Anything you can learn in those e-books can be learned by trial and error. How do you think those people wrote the books? By trial and error. Its simply a matter of what you cherish most: Time or Money.
If you have the time, try things.
If you have the money, read.
Me, I aint got the money so I've gone by trial and error. I could almost write an e-book....... hmmmmmm..... :]

Thanks much for your reply. I appreciate your perspective. I'd still like to learn from others if they've written about their experience with AdWords and what worked, what didn't. I have often found that information is usually available somewhere on the net if you're looking hard enough. Until then...trial and error it is

I paid $49 for the Andrew Goodman eBook on AdWords, and while I actually never got around to reading the whole thing, I did like what I saw. If you are serious about learning the ins and outs of it, and don't seem to be finding what you need for free, fifty bucks should pay for itself very quickly with your improved campaign.

Thanks for the suggestion. Still holding out for a freebie (still skeptical that I could learn anything that trial and error hasn't taught me already).

Answers to most questions you may have are probably on this site so if you read through the posts or search the site (I use the free Google toolbar for this) you can get lots of tips.
When you find someone whose answers are useful, click on their profile button on the left of the post and read the other messages they've posted.
Time is money so you can either invest time and learn it yourself or invest money and learn from the experience of someone else. The better the resource the more time it should save and the more it should be worth in money.

I agree with celife, I am looking for a free available resource. I just started a thread asking about this guys google adwords guide. This is the link http://www.perrymarshall.com/adwords/ . Celife even if neither of us choose to pay for this book this guy has alot of free articles on his web pages about marketing. Many of them discuss a difference in convential marketing versus effective marketing. He eventually gets around to up selling his SEO services I believe. However I have enjoyed just browsing and reviews his many articles. I though this may be helpful his website is www.perrymarshall.com I hope it helps some.
I am still interested in any free resources out there thank you guys.
