Has anyone tried testing the Lycos pay per click advertising program (its called AdBuyer). I ran a small test and the initial results look promising. The conversions were good, but the volume was on the low end. I'm wondering if it makes sense to ad this program to my PPC strategy on an ongoing basis.

I'm not familiar with it. Is it their version of Google's Adsense (content ads running on individual sites)?

No...Lycos operates their own Pay Per Click advertising program. The ads are distributed across Lycos.Com, Hotbot.Com and some affiliates outside their network. They partner with FindWhat for the backend technology to manage their program, but Lycos operates its own independent ad network.

What I like best about the Lycos program is that they operate their own Search destination sites so you know where your ads will appear. Unlike other second tier players who rely exclusively on a network of nameless sites for their distribution.

I just wish they had more traffic.....although it does seem to be increasing a bit.
