Verizon Yellow pages now offers a PPC program. I have a client whose site gets a lot of traffic from a free listing in their print directory (which is also posted online).
Their yellow pages are fed to 2500+ Web sites including Verizon Wireless, Lycos, MSN, White Pages Network, Metacrawler, Infospace, Webcrawler, Univision.com, HotBot, Bigfoot, America 411, Excite, Dogpile, and SuperPages.com.
Minimum bid is twenty cents. Select from coverage options (or any combination of):
All U.S.
Specific state(s)
215 Metros
1,500+ counties
58,000+ cities
They're offering a much needed high traffic geo-targeted option for any business wanting to limit their ad spend to a specific geographic area.
One really excellent feature of this offering is that their results display three nationwide and three local results for each keyword so local businesses do NOT have to bid against national companies.
Well worth testing for any national business and especially for local businesses that want to ensure every dime they spend on advertising is for someone looking in their specific geography.
I'm opening several accounts there so I'll be able to provide specific information about using their system and feedback on results.
