Hi everyone!
I've had a campaign with Google for a little over a month now. My conversion rate is only 0.3% and each conversion costed me about $100. That's terrible! How can I improve that? What do I need to do?

I try to weight my bids based on the terms that give the highest conversion.
I bid quite low on the words that don't convert very much. You should bid on the keywords that are most relevant to your business.
I ensure that the landing page follows through on the promise of the ad... The landing page should also make it really easy for the visitors to complete the steps necessary to the conversion.
Finally, you've got to make sure that your ad is descriptive, enticing and true.
You might also keep an eye on your website analytics. What are the top paths through your site? Are people coming to the page that you want them to see and leaving? Or, are they moving on to some other area of your site?
I came across a very good article a while back on Adwords... Maybe it might help you.

To lower your cost per conversion consider lowering your bids. Also ensure that your keyword phrases are specific to what you are advertising. The more specific the phrase the better the results should be.
Sakebouteille's advice can help you with raising your conversion rates.

Thanks, but how do I know how low to go on my bids and by how much? If my bids run between 0.25-0.45 cents how do I know how much lower to go?

What I do is sort the Average Cost Per Click column and then lower bids for all ads that are in position 1-2 and raise them for any ads lower than 5 or so. I generally jump 10 cents at a time.
Be sure to use a period of time that is fairly current (last few days, last week, last seven days) for best results.
That guideline is for advertisers wishing to maximize ROI and traffic. If you need to keep expenses lower you can lower bids and just try to stay on the first page where economically feasible for you.

They display 8 or 10 ads on each page, so if your average position is 8 or higher you're on the first page. If it is 8-10 you may not be for some searches and if more than 10 it isn't.

Exact match keywords usually get higher CTRs; however, they can get far lower traffic and therefore lesser results.
Some consultants use only exact match. I use broad, phrase, and exact to generate maximum results.

The same negative keywords apply to all your other keywords. [Exact match] ads only display if what the searcher types in is EXACTLY the same (no extra words or different order).
Theoretically, "phrase match" ads will display as long as the words in that phrase appear even if there are other additional words.
So, if your keyword is [red shoes] the searcher must type in only red shoes to see your exact match ad.
And if your keyword is "red shoes" your ad is supposed to display even if they type in red tennis shoes or red high heeled shoes.
I say theoretically because at Google your ad must be clicked on in the first dozen or so times it is displayed or it will quit displaying for that phrase.
Knowing that, DO NOT do repeated searches to see if your ad will show up or you will be disabling your ad yourself.
