OK, so I was told that Google now allows you to put competing text banners on your page already showing Adsense. I checked their terms and I don't see anything new, so I decided to email Google about it. Our company has lot of clients of our own and we want to put our own text banners on our pages as well as Google when necessary. So I emailed them and they said something like "as long as the ads are not strikingly similar our would cause confusion as to affiliation with Google..." So we designed some banners and refrained from using any google elements, and they still said no. Has anyone successfully placed Google text ads along with competing text banners on their pages? I don't mean those "limited text banners", but the real thing. Does anyone know of any designs that aren't breaking Google's TOS, that still look like text banners? Their site is vague and their support has been worse so far. Any help would be great.

Can you ask Google specifically why they did not approve your suggested banners? Their usual concern is that viewers not mistake other ads for theirs.

So are you saying you cannot put Kanoodle ads and Google ads on the same page?
My only other thought is rotate the google ads with your other ads so only one is showing at a time.

Originally Google Adsense were the only ads (as far as I know) available to most Web sites so that is what people had. Their TOS specified that other ads could be within the same Web site but not on the same page.
Now that there are other options and their TOS has changed I'm not sure of the specifics. Hopefully someone else who runs multiple types will come across this thread and offer some advice.

Well, you can put whatever you want on a given page if Google's ads are not there. Problem is we want to put our own advertisers on our pages when we can and google as a fallback. So there will be many instances when both ads will need to be shown at the same time. I have sent them a few sample ads and all they will say is that they violate the terms. They won't say anything about why (specifically). They only will say that they will be happy to look at what we send. I've tried very hard to create text banners (text in a box of some sort) that are distinctly not Google, but they think they own the internet, so I haven't gotten anything approved for simultaneous use. I was just wondering if anyone might have ideas on what to do. We earn at least twice as much per click when we can place our own advertisers, but we can't usually sell all we can deliver, so we need to fill those spaces according to demand. Thanks.

Could the issue be that the ads are in a box? Maybe they would approve ads that don't have a box around them?
