I have been using Google CPC for several months now. My coversion rate is next to zero. I have noticed that I get a very high rate of clicks coming from Mountain View Calif. and Chantilly Virgina. I also have noticed that while I may have 30 or more visits from Mountain View, (for example) that I do not show them coming from the same ip address. Another thing I see are ip address's that are almost identical but not quite the same. I may have dozens of ip address's that are almost identical. All this happens daily unless I pause the add campaigne.
I e-mailed Google a few days ago with the question about so many clicks comming from Mountain View, which is where there Corp. office is located. I have not recieved a response from them.
My question, does anyone have any input concerning the above? I use Web Trends Traffic Analysis to track my sights visitors.
Thanks!

My friend once had a problem with here ppc campaign. Her competition where maliciously clicking on her sponsored links as to try dry up her funds.... (bastards if you ask me!!!!!) She filed a complaint with either google and got reimburse $500 or something.
I think she actually created a fullon report about it being the same ip address and number of clicks from them and the fact that there where no conversions….

Good Luck!!

Are you using the free google CPC utility?

Is that what you are having problems with? or would you suggest i give it a try?

Are these clicks from search or content ads? If only on contact ads, turn those off and only run search ads.

If you have low search traffic overall research and add more keyword phrases. If you have adequate traffic but low conversions you may want to improve your landing page and/or Web site.

It'll be well worth installing some anti click fraud tracking software. I manage some very large PPC campaigns in the U.K (some spending upto $250,000 equivilent per month)and we installed a well known click fraud tracker on the clients site as we suspected fraudulent clicks.

We set the software so after a pre-determined number of 'click throughs' from the same IP address a stroppy message appears on the users screen and this normally seems to scare them off. We get to view stats whenever we want and find a LOT of suspicious activity which we in turn report to the Search Engines concerned (a series of clicks seconds apart from the same IP address using a high value term etc.).

The software is well worth the investment therefore in my opinion (there are a few providers out there)and has provided us with several refunds from the providers which may otherwise have gone undetected.
