I attended a Yahoo Search Marketing Advertiser workshop recently in Dallas. To determine whether it would benefit me I called and spoke with Mary O'Brien to get a feel for the level of information that would be covered.
O'Brien was with GoTo before they became Overture before they were purchased by Yahoo. She is an extremely sharp PPC consultant with Alteract Marketing now and Yahoo contracts with her to present these seminars.
This was probably the best seminar on any subject I've ever attended and definitely worth the money. If you spend any appreciable amount on Yahoo PPC or want to increase your results substantially make an effort to attend one of these.
Although the information implies that the morning session is more basic and the afternoon session is advanced there is information in both for everyone. Although you can sign up for either I recommend staying for the entire day.
There is an amazing amount of information provided in a very logical easy to understand format. The entire presentation is provided in printed form so you can take it with you to implement in your own accounts.
There were tons of questions about Yahoo! PPC specifically and PPC in general and she had answers for every single one of them. Rarely will you have ready access to someone with this level of expertise and knowledge able to share it so well.
The material presented will benefit advertisers with all levels of experience. The more you already know the more you'll get out of it.
The next workshop is in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, February 16th. They limit the number of attendees and often sell out so if you're interested register early.

Wow if only I had read this post earlier I truly would considered going. Do you have any idea as to how often these seminars are done? Is there somewhere online that I could find out more information about it?
Thanks,
Evicart

If it isn't sold out it is not too late to attend that one. They are held periodically around the country. The link in the post above provides additional information and still works as of now. I do not know if it will continue to be available once the date has passed.
There is an email address in that link for additional information. You could email and ask if there are other seminars scheduled.
If Yahoo publicizes upcoming events online anywhere I've never found it. They usually send invitations via email directly to advertisers. They probably only invite those in the general area where the next event will be held.

I will have to keep that in mind then. Unfortunately it too short of notice for me to fly out to Arizona from Florida although I would love to. I will have to email my rep at Yahoo and see if I can get any info on that. I also emailed the address on the registration form. Thanks for the info!

I didn't realize that seminar was so far away geographically for you. As I mentioned these are held around the country so there should be one much closer at some point.
The email address in the registration form is probably the best way to find out when one will be held near you.

Mary O'Brien was kind enough to provide this list of upcoming seminars for 2006. Those that have been finalized are:
So far the dates/cities confirmed are:
Chicago – March 16th
New York – March 21st
Boston – March 23rd
Manchester, UK – March 31st
London, UK – April 6th
Potential seminars for April that have not yet been confirmed are Tampa (Florida), Houston, Washington D.C. and Orange County. [I believe she probably means California but that could also be Florida, North Carolina, or Virginia.]
A current calendar of all confirmed seminars can be found at Yahoo Online Registration.

Only the first quarter confirmed seminars are on the above list. There are likely to be many more announced as the year progresses. I will post any updates I receive or come across and anyone else with information is welcome to do so also.

Yahoo still has a few seats for this seminar being held in Houston, Texas this coming Wednesday, May 24th. I highly recommend attending BOTH sessions to anyone using or considering Yahoo! Search Marketing.
Get more information or register online for the Yahoo! Search Marketing Advertiser Workshop right away as these usually sell out long before each seminar.
