Been using Google adwords and overture now for about 4yrs, mostly btb selling for lower volume keywords. Looking at getting into higher volume keywords and $ and need some suggestion on good bid management software so I don't lose my shirt. Let me know if anyone has some they highly recommended and have used themselves. Thanks!

That question comes up frequently and most of us are not currently using any bid management software. High volume keywords may have much higher bids and more bid change activity but managing them manually has worked for me.
You might search the archives in this forum for bid management. The software that is most often discussed is BidRank so you could search on that too.
If you're making money with Google and Yahoo you'll want to expand what works to MSN and Looksmart. MSN is no longer showing Yahoo ads and clicks in some Yahoo accounts are down 20%. I suggest Looksmart because of the low bid costs and high conversion rates I'm seeing.

Bidrank I hear is pretty good. I have been using Atlas and its fine, but fact is, (and Rose, maybe you can offer an opinion here) that bid management software just doesnt seem to work as well with GOOGLE. In GOOGLE, you do not pay for position, so automated bid software doesnt seem to work as well. It works much better with YAHOO. Atlas manages my YAHOO acct a good part of the time, but I managed GOOGLE manually.

Although I currently manage all of my accounts manually, I would consider using a program if I felt the advantages were strong enough.
The main benefit I see for some advertisers would be frequently adjusting their Yahoo bids to maintain a particular position.
With Yahoo moving toward a system more similar to Google's, bid management programs will have increasing challenges. When questions about management programs have come up in the past the consensus has been that most manage accounts manually.
There are some functions I would love to have automated. For example, I'd like to quickly and easily tell if any of my keywords have dropped off the first page of results especially at Google.
Perhaps Google will add that feature soon as it could mean a nice boost in income for them. If I knew a keyword wasn't staying on the first page I'd raise the bids to keep it there.

I'm seriously looking at Keyword Max. We receive organic traffic from Google through about 15K unique key phrases. I would like the software to be able to track these as well as our CPC phrases.
Does anyone have other ideas on software that will track both?
Thanks in advance.
