Does anyone know if there is any way that ROI tracking can be done for affiliates? I'm not sure if the site I promote would be willing to put coding for me on their sales/confirmation page or not. If all affiliates asked for this to be done their coding could get quite messy. If they did put the code on their page this would also flag up the affiliate status with Google/Yahoo.
I can't see it but can ROI tracking be done for affiliates without the selling site involved?

You might want to check your affilaite program carefully. They might have something like this already. Usually not as advanced as what you might want. Especially if you are doing PPC and sending direct to your merchant. YOu might want to try something like this:

Hello,
First time poster here. I'm not certain of any KW tracking solutions that work if you don't have access to the sale confirmation page. Most advertisers will never install 3rd party analytics on their confirmation pages for security and privacy issues. The last thing an advertiser / merchant wants to do is share their conversion data with Google or any other analytics provider.
Many affiliates running PPC campaigns use SID level tracking but this is not effective when managing a high volume of KWs. If anyone does know of a tracking solution that works for affiliates please let us know.
Cheers

What you could do is set up some referring scripts on your site that would essentially redirect the traffic before you send it on to the merchant.
Another way is to set it up like affiliate_guy suggests, but if there's a lot of keywords it gets messy trying to track it on the SID level.
