    Yahoo! Search Marketing is promoting a joint venture offer with the merchant account company Pivotal Payments which offers the dual benefits of decreased merchant account costs and free advertising at Yahoo.

    I became aware of this program through a brochure distributed at the Yahoo! Search Marketing booth at the Internet Retailers Conference in Chicago. Their brochure makes some impressive claims:

    * They are America's leading internet merchant account provider
    * Their merchant accounts integrate with virtually every shopping cart and payment gateway
    * Integration is as simple as changing your Merchant Identification Number (MID) in your current payment gateway.
    * Their "Meet or Beat" rate pricing policy guarantees you get the best rates available today.
    * Their success rate at lowering merchant's online payment processing costs is 98%.

    I have personally spoken many times to the person whose came up with the idea for this joint venture. Because he knows PPC his company is far more responsive to requests for PPC related limit increases.
