OK I have a question:
Google Adwords...
When you change the settings for your ad...
I noticed that I was not getting much traffic for my ad... I don't know if things have been slow lately or what, because I used to get way more impressions and clicks back in June/July...
Anyways, so I looked at my ad settings just in case...
I noticed that my ads, under the setting for " Delivery Method " was set to " Standard ",
So, I just changed it to " Accelerated " in hopes that I'll get more impressions/clicks... but I have to wait till Monday to see what happens because I don't advertise on the weekend.
My question is... does changing the delivery method from 'standard' to 'accelerated' make a sizeable difference in how many impressions/clicks you get?
Thanks for the input
- Dave

How many impressions and clicks your ads can receive depends on how many searches are done for your keywords, whether you are bidding high enough to get your ads on the first page of results, and whether you are limiting your traffic with a Daily Budget.
Your impressions and clicks will drop if competition has increased for your keywords resulting in them dropping off the first page of results. If this is the reason you may have to increase your bids.
As bids rise if you do not increase your daily budget you will get fewer clicks for the same advertising spend. For example, if a person had a daily budget of $10.00 that amount could only buy 10 clicks if they cost $1 each but it could buy 200 clicks if they only cost five cents each. Huge difference.
Google's system only displays your ads consistently if you set your Daily Budget to their recommended amount. That amount can often be far more than the system will ever actually spend. This issue is greatly compounded when an advertiser turns their ads on and off as you indicate you are doing.
There is a Google help file Google Adwords Standard and Accelerated Ad Delivery does indicate that Accelerated Delivery is more likely to spend your actual budget than Standard delivery so you may see an increase in impressions, clicks and spend by making that change.
If you want to buy all the traffic that is available for your keywords, setting your Daily Budget to their recommended amount is necessary. This must be done with caution though if that amount is far greater than what you want to spend.
Remember that there is a three hour delay between when a change is made and when the results can be seen in your account. Any time an advertiser makes a major change they should be sure to monitor the results.
You also need to know that Google's system intermittently has technical issues that can result in ads not starting to run after they've been paused. The longer they've been off the longer that delay may be.

Thanks for all that info, FR
In my case, I'm not concerned about budget...
I just want as many impressions/clicks as I can get.
So ya, maybe I have to increase my bids... but I think for me, accelerated might help...

If your budget is set to Google's recommended amount changing from accelerated should not make any difference. It is only supposed to apply to advertisers limiting their ad spend with the budget.
Have you gone to the campaign settings page and checked the budgets on your campaigns to ensure they are set to at least the recommended amount?
Have you looked at the average positions for all of your keywords to see if they're landing on the first page?
If you have some that show zero impressions you can use the Ads Diagnostic Tool to see if they are triggering your ads. Google's system will tell you if your bid is insufficient to get on the first page.
If you have Google Analytics running go to Marketing Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Adwords Keyword Position and check to see where your ads are actually being displayed.
If you want to increase traffic you may want to increase bids on any keywords that are falling below about position 8.
