Hi guys,

When editing a Campaigns settings in Google Adwords, you have in the advanced option below the option of setting the Ad serving to:

Optimize: Show better-performing ads more often

or

Rotate: Show ads more evenly

From what i understand, better serving ads are ads the generate lots of clickthrough but not necessarly lots of sales, is it safer to use the Rotate option?

When you want to test new ads you can set it to rotate. Otherwise I recommend setting it to optimize. If you install Google's free conversion tracking you can see which ads actually generate the best conversions.

I don't know yet whether they use the conversion data to decide which ads are best; however, I would be surprised if they aren't either already doing that or planning to do it in the future.
