Whats the deal with the Conversion Tracking and the New Yahoo?? I cant find anywhere that talks about conversion data in the new system, and cant seem to find it in the Help either. Hmm... They didnt remove it entirely did they? That would seem a bit silly.

Okay I figured it out (curious to see how it displays in the reports etc.)

For those of you who have the question I had here is the answer. Yes it is still there, but the sytem is now different than it was before.

> Click on the Admininstration Tab
> Then the "Analytics" link (in the blue horizontal bar under the tabs)
> Then "enable" analytics.
> Copy the new code to the <head> section of your conversion pages

There ya go.

(Just noticed - the column headings for conversions appear after you enable it. Very nice smile )

Sites that had conversion tracking already on them should still see conversion data in the new system. I believe it will need to be updated eventually though. Did you not have it on before your account was transitioned?

Yes, the conversion tracking was fully in place before, then after it was long gone. Frustrating. At least it can still be put into place.

The biggest issue though is still historic stats - would be nice if EVERYTHING could be in the new system. Not entirely sure why they cant, but I am sure they have their reasons.

I'm sure they have their hands full with the transition so moving historical statistical data may take a low priority. It would also be an added expense they may not wish to bear.

I think conversion tracking kept working for some accounts that transitioned but I beleive I saw something about having to change the code eventually. When I come across it again or can confirm that I'll post again.

In the meantime can anyone else share whether their conversion tracking did or did not continue to work when their account was transitioned?

There is some information in the 01.24.07 blog entry at PPC Marketing Guide regarding issues with the Issues with the Panama conversion.

I found an answer related to this question in another forum. Thanks to Marketing Coordinator/PPC person "darkmule" for this information:

"As long as you don't make ANY changes to either the code or to the settings of your account, the old Overture conversion tracking code will still work in panama.

**However** if you make changes to the conversion tracking settings in panama, it will enable the "NEW" code and will disable the overture code."
