Google has confirmed that if requested they will manually block specific sites in their Google Partner Search Network. Can anyone share specific URLs of other sites like MySpace.com and those you know to be parked domain sites showing Google search (not content) ads?
For those who haven't checked, MySpace shows Google search ads for all types of searches of their SITE (not the entire Web) including those for people, music, music videos, blogs, videos and events. While I don't know how risky having our ads show up on regular entire web searches I know I do not want search ads being displayed on unrelated search pages.
The better you are at getting great CTRs the riskier it is to have your ads show up at the top of unrelated searches. This is because Google "rewards" you by moving your ads into what Google Analytics calls the T1, T2, and T3 positions (top left). Those positions get more than their fair share of what I call "automatic" clicks.

I would put at the lowest of the low in the Google field of play the Domain Parkers realm. How much does that whole thing s*&^? How they sucker folks into paying to be involved in that fiasco is totally beyond my comprehension.. oh and yes, you can pat me on the head for being the naive one.. but - you know what, I still think it is outrageously WRONG.

Besides myself there are numerous brilliant PPC consultants bending Google's ear over this very issue daily. As many already realize, the only true way to opt out of the parked domain arena is to either identify every one manually and block it OR opt out of the Google Search Partner Network entirely and give up traffic and sales from their quality search partners.
Because that network includes the default search functions of major ISPs such as AOL, Earthlink, and AT&T that could mean sacrificing a huge amount of sales. Not opting out means taking on a huge potential risk.
There is conflicting information on official Google sources regarding precisely what sites their excluded sites function will block. AdWordsRep has responded that parked domain sites CAN be blocked with this function - even those showing search ads and not content ads. See Site Exclusion Now Available for Search Network for details.
I am compiling a list of sites advertisers may wish to block . Please post, pm, or e-mail me with your suggestions.

We've brought the issue of excluding these domain parkers and similar from our campaigns a couple of times. Their reply is that many companies find good value in these placements -- not sure I agree.
Previously, we've requested to have Google manually exclude these sites as they were search network partners. They said this isn't something they typically do and our account rep wasn't sure it could be done. Though, they finally did and made it seem like doing this was the exception and not the rule. Afterward, the offending sites did still keep showing up on our reports for awhile. Lately, it seems like our stats are now mostly clear of these.
Though, it looks like we've got to go through this process again with the 3 domains I've posted above. Perhaps now they have a better system/infrastructure in place for making these exclusions and it will be easier for us to have this done.
I'm glad to hear others are seeing the same issues and taking up the topic with Google. In the past, they've been pretty good at listening and incorporating feedback. Hopefully, that happens here.

This is not something they would typically do. They only agree because some of us are adamant that we either want them blocked or we'll opt totally out of their partner search network.
They can manually block them and I'm sure that is inefficient and they'd rather not. They tell me and others that every request we make lately will take two weeks so that is probably why you saw them in your logs for a while. Looks like they have a two week backlog of requests.
I wish there were more contributors as it would be better for us all if we had a longer list of sites to block. I'll see what I can do today as I want to get my requests in to Google by first thing tomorrow.
They would probably provide a way to opt out of the partner search network if they felt advertisers opting out of it were costing them more in profits than losing the wise and keeping the multitudes who don't know to opt out.
That might be challenging to measure but Google may have a way to do it. With enough public discussion and enough accounts opting out of the search network OR making requests for manually blocking of specific sites Google may decide it is worth providing that option.
One good thing came of this situation. It is now more obvious than ever who the sharpest PPC specialists are. They're the ones who post new and unique strategies for dealing with issues. In order to do that they have to have figured out what the systems are doing and then devised and tested methods of getting the systems to do what they want instead of what the system wants.
Those are the brilliant ones we can all learn from and should make a point of reading here and on other boards and in their blogs.
