Hi all,
I was recently contacted by a Miva representative offering their services of pay-per-click campaigns. I remember Miva being a contextual advertising company and now a PPC company.
I know Miva is a big company, but have any of you tried them with their PPC services?
Did it work well?

I used them back when they were trading as Espotting in the UK providing PPC listings. After losing their important Yahoo UK account the traffic stayed roughly the same. I gave up on them soon after that.

We used to use Miva in the days they were FindWhat.com. A few years back, the quality of their traffic dropped dramatically, to the point where it was a waste of money. I have yet to hear anything positive about them since then. Probably best to stay away.

I currently use MIVA for brand protection, and that is it.
I have a very limited set of branded keywords on MIVA, in case that they do provide some traffic to my site.
As for expanded keyword lists, I would shy away from anything that does not specifically relate to your brand, or branded keyterms.
MIVA tends to be a site that can drive a great amount of "general" traffic to your site, but cannot be held to a conversion goal.

I haven't used them since they were Findwhat and haven't come across any success stories about them.

I also havn't used them since they were Findwhat but just before Miva bought them out all of my profitable campaigns started losing money and these campaigns were in a bunch of different markets.

I know in the past they had a terrible filter and just as described the traffic was garbage. As I understand it, their largest traffic providers are adware based. Now lets be realistic: adware does convert, not nearly as well as type in organic traffic, but is still the scourge of the internet. I know in the past 12 months they have made some decent steps to clean their network, hence the large amount of click arbitrage advertisers. I would give it a small go again, lower traffic / higher converting keywords in your vertical.

I am not a great friend of Miva. A collegue used their service and was not impressed. If you are seeking a reliable advertising management company, may I suggest ppcgeeks.net. They are managing my marketing campaign and I have been with them for over a year.
