Hi
Could anyone tell that banner links are of equal strength as Text links are?
Also one thing more, have search engines stopped considering text of ALT text as a keyword?
Regards,
Sandy

Not sure what you mean by equal strength but from an seo perspective there should not be much difference in my view.
As for Alt Text, last time I checked it counted for something and should as long as density remains somewhat of an issue in the crawling by serahc engines.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for your reply
I asked that banner link are adds equal weightage in optimizing your site as text links....
And I read somewhere that ALT text has been discounted and of no use to optimize in the case of MSN..is that true?
Also, how do you check for the importance of something,,,just like you wrote "I checked for ALT Text"...then I want to ask how did you check?

Sandy

There is not a one place where one can go and check on things of this nature.
I found that learning and practicing SEO is a sum of things that you read about from boards like this one as well as dedicated boards like [link] for example.
As far as MSN and Alt Text. Who cares if they don't take into consideration since other do. As long as you do not get penalized for puting Alt Text (and you have to be careful how you use it) then I would strongly suggest that you use it.
Good luck
